Position Summary

The Director of Strategic Programs and Experiences is a full-time leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction, logistical oversight, and creative vision for BPA’s programs and events. You will lead the planning and execution of national conferences, including the National Leadership Conference, and ensure BPA’s hallmark initiatives are executed with excellence and innovation.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director/CEO and collaborates closely with other directors, staff, and stakeholders to deliver experiences that reflect BPA’s mission and elevate its national presence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Program Leadership

  • Direct and grow key BPA programs including BPA Cares, Scholarship Programs, and Torch Awards
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure program alignment with student needs and classroom integration
  • Develop evaluation tools and analyze program impact to guide improvements and innovation

National Conferences & Events

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of BPA’s national conferences, including volunteer programs, vendor relations, event branding, and daily on-site operations
  • Manage site selection, contract negotiation, vendor sourcing, space planning, registration, and emergency response coordination
  • Oversee event technologies, signage, production, housing, catering, and security to ensure seamless delivery
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director/CEO on budgeting and execution of annual meeting plans

Experience Innovation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Leverage attendee insights and emerging event trends to elevate programmatic and conference experiences
  • Partner with executive officers, advisors, students, and alumni to shape meaningful and relevant experiences
  • Utilize data, feedback, and behavioral analysis to assess success and inform future strategy

Partnerships & Promotion

  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Marketing Communications to secure sponsors and exhibitors for the National Leadership Conference
  • Identify and nurture partnerships with corporations, influencers, and educational leaders to expand BPA’s impact
  • Co-develop city-level promotional strategies to market the National Leadership Conference in its host location
  • Manage communications related to conferences and events, ensuring consistency, relevance, and outreach effectiveness

Working Conditions & Compensation

Location

Based in Columbus, Ohio with flexible hybrid/remote work options

Schedule

Full-time (exempt), with travel required for national events and site visits
